This professional blended premium potting soil is ideal for germinating and growing your microgreens. We have improved this soil! Due to supply issues for some of the ingredients, we were forced to develop a new mix, and we are so glad our hand was forced! Take a look at the reviews for the Home Microgreens Potting Soil for microgreens, you will see how well people love this mix! The Home Microgreens Potting Soil for microgreens grows microgreens better than any mix we have tested. The improvement is with longer-growing microgreens such as basil, chard, cilantro, etc. In head-to-head trials, basil, chard, and cilantro grew better and were much darker green than our old mix. The soil contains coco coir, sphagnum peat moss, earthworm castings, perlite, poultry litter, feather meal, bone meal, biochar, potash, diatomaceous earth, gypsum, leonardite, and beneficial microbes. The soil is light and has a more consistent texture than the older mix. It holds more than its weight in water. The peat moss replaces the aged forest product but does not reduce the wetting time. Soil is sold in 2 sizes. The sizes are: Refill for Home Microgreens trays – these are the new black trays (7.5 X 5 X 1.5 inches). Refill for four Home Microgreen trays (~3 quarts). A 1020 microgreen tray can be filled with the larger bag. Note: The soil will be shipped in a tightly sealed plastic bag. Do not store the soil in the closed plastic bag for very long. Moisture will build up. Store the soil in a tote or open the bag and store it that way. For more information see this post.
